WHAT IS DTG PRINTING ON WHITE FABRICS? DTG printing on white cotton fabrics is when the DTG ink is printed and pressed INTO the shirt. Durability is very good. Check out this video of a T-shirt being printed using the DTG process

PROSCONS
  • Cost
  • Breathable
  • Vibrancy
  • Durability
  • Comfort
  • No Design Limitations
  • Only on white fabrics

WHAT IS VYNIL PRINTING? Vinyl is a flexible plastic sheet that is stuck, and heat pressed ON TOP of the shirt. This means that you will have a thin layer of the vinyl ON TOP the shirt. With Direct to Garment printing the design goes directly INTO the shirt which makes the shirt “breathable”. Vinyl does not allow the shirt to breathe (especially with thin fabrics such as t-shirts) so please take this into account when deciding which printing method to use. German Turbo Vinyl (the quality we use) is the best type of vinyl because it’s very thin and very long lasting. Most of the competition use cheap Chinese Vinyl that cracks and peels after a few washes so please very careful. Do NOT accept this quality even if it is for free!! Beware of the competition!! Check out this video of a T-shirt being printed using VINYL and PRINTABLE VINYL

PROSCONS
  • Cost
  • Vibrancy
  • We use German TURBO Vinyl which is the BEST Vinyl
  • German TURBO Vinyl will not crack or peel for approx. 50-100 washes
  • We will NEVER use (worst quality) Chinese Vinyl
  • NOT breathable
  • Design Limitations
  • Durability
  • ALL the competition use VERY CHEAP, THICK, PLASTIC Chinese Vinyl so be VERY careful
  • Chinese Vinyl will crack and peel after only 3 washes
  • Comfort
  • “Vinyl” look

WHAT IS DIRECT TO GARMENT (DTG) PRINTING? DTG is the BEST printing method. With Direct to Garment (DTG) you’re able to have UNLIMITED COLOURS with UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES . The DTG ink is printed directly INTO the shirt so it looks and feels really natural. DTG is especially amazing with colourful portraits, or images. Most printing shops do not have Direct to Garment printing (for many reasons) so be very careful . The competition uses a technique called TRANSFER PAPER. Please be very careful of print shops using transfer paper which is basically a printed paper that is stuck onto the shirt. Can you imagine how this will feel and look? Miserable!! Check out this video of a T-shirt being printed using the DIRECT TO GARMENT method

PROSCONS

  • Glue base might affect the feel
  • Glue might need to be washed off
  • Hoodies & sweatshirts are 50% cotton so prints not as vibrant
  • Vibrancy if using 50% cotton items such as on hoodies, sweatshirts, or any type of 50/50 blended fabric

WHAT IS EMBROIDERY? Embroidery is when we stitch your design into the clothing or hats. Embroidery has its limitations but it’s also really amazing. Please keep in mind that the threads are solid colours so you cannot embroider designs that have colourful shadings or lots of tiny details. Another thing to also keep in mind is that whenever we embroider, we need to “digitize” the logo. Our website already has 28 digitized fonts and over 200 digitized clip arts which are ready to go. If you insist on using a logo or fonts that are NOT digitized, then this will require us to have them digitized so that the embroidery machine is programmed to know how to stitch the logo/design. Digitizing is basically programming and telling the machine how to stitch the logo. This process takes exceptionally long and costs between $35 and $100 per design, depending on the amount of stitches and the complexity of the logo. Check out this video of a T-shirt, hat, polo, and hoodie being EMBROIDERED

What is DTG printing?

DTG printing (Direct to Garment) is the best type of printing method for clothing. It deposits special ink directly into the item. No one else in Montreal offers DTG printing! Unlike other printing methods, such as silk screening or vinyl there are no limitations as to what you can do with DTG printing. This allows us to print any type of design onto your shirts. Our competitors cannot offer what we can offer. With our state of the art and very expensive DTG machines, we can do what others can’t. This is the best quality printing method available in the industry. DTG (Direct to Garment) is without a doubt the best method to print on clothing. Since this is a digital process, the print is sharper and has a higher resolution, or DPI, than traditional printing methods such as screen printing. Unlike screen printing (which is vastly inferior to DTG), DTG has the ability to print just one single shirt for minimal cost. DTG has a stronger bond between garment fibers pigmented inks, resulting in longer lasting prints and a better durability.
